About Us
During the summer of 2004 Anna DeShawn, Founder/Director of E3 Radio, spent a lot of time in her university library. While searching through shelf after shelf, she found herself reading about the many social justice movements & their leaders throughout history. Story after story, leader after leader who has limited representation in our history books and stories. It was that summer that E3 Radio was born. Anna was inspired to do something about it. She was inspired to honor their work by providing a vehicle for the overlooked and underrepresented voices of today to tell their stories.
E3 Radio is a college radio network. E3 stands for educational enlightenment & empowerment through radio. We pride ourselves on producing authentically edgy–socially conscious media. All of our program series are meant to challenge perceptions, evoke conversation & thought. We’re special because we go to the people & give them a voice. We do not use voice-over specialist. The voices that listeners hear are from the very people who are affected by the issues. We have to make the programs authentic in order to create real change.
Real Talk. Real Change.
