Anna DeShawn

Founder / Host / Producer

Anna DeShawn, 30, is a Chicago-born social entrepreneur. Anna graduated from Drake University in 2005 with a degree in radio/television production. She went on to study corporate communications at Ithaca College and graduated with her masters in 2007. Media has always been Anna’s passion so she turned her passion into a reality when she founded E3 Radio, LLC. E3 Radio is an online radio network that produces authentically-edgy media to affect real change. Anna and the QCREW including Brandee Young host their show for Queer People of Color (QPOC) around the country every Thursday at 9pm CT.

Past Guests include Affinity Community Services, C.C. Carter, Coquie Hughes, Hanifah Walidah, Lez Elegance Magazine, KIN4LIFE, Mary Morton and many others. In addition, Anna also produces Conversations with Angie Harvey, which challenges listeners to GROW up and live their best lives.

She brings people out of the closet in a single speech. She was voted one of Vegas’ 31 People with Pride and is described in the QVegas magazine as one of the Women to Watch Out For. She motivates thousands of people in a given year. She is a cross between your good girlfriend, a therapist and a comedienne. She’s a Personal Growth Advisor. She’s a Motivational
Speaker. She is Angie Harvey!!

Ms. Harvey founded Let’s T.A.L.K. – Together Acquire Lasting Knowledge with the hope of exchanging information in a variety of forums. She has done just that working with over 40 GLBT organizations across the country including HRC, International Federation of Black Prides, and Zuna Institute. Angela’s passion is made visible during her workshops where she educates,
empowers, enhances, encourages, enlightens and entertains participants. She jokes that most participants “accidently grow” during her workshops. Angela’s creativity and desire to reach more people, has given her the ability to create numerous workshops that span age groups and bring people of all walks of life together.

Angela has the gift of engagement and creates willingness with everyone that she encounters. She is driven by passion and fueled by love. Let’s T.A.L.K. is a true example of her dedication and perseverance. Angela currently resides in Las Vegas by way of Cleveland, Ohio where she successfully maintains her family and a successful career as well as play an active role
in her community.

Brandee aka Lashes

QCrew Co-Host

Brandee Young is a Chicago native. Since the age of 10 Brandee has always been involved in theatre, acting or modeling. Naturally as Brandee became an adult being in front of an audience or camera has always where she seemed to shine the brightest.

Brandee has been a part of the LGBTQA community for over 19 years; therefore she is not shy to the business and giving herself to her community. She first started off as a volunteer for The Center on Halsted and the Howard Brown Community Center as an Aids Crisis Center Rep, and then worked her way to the Youth Division volunteering as a mentor and a peer coach counselor.

Moving those talents to the stage of POW WOW as being their “exotic erotic’ mistress of ceremony “Starra”, as well as working behind the scenes with Hard Candy Calendar (a calendar that emphasizes the beauty of the aggressive woman or STUDs as we like to call them in our community). All of the proceeds of the calendar were being donated to Breast Cancer organizations. Brandee’s position with the calendar was Modeling / Marketing Rep and from time to time being a model herself.
Brandee then accepted another platform of being an actress in films like “My mama called your mother a Dyke”; “The lies we Tell “ pt 1. “If I was your girl “web series and “Girls like Us “
Brandee never gave up modeling as she continues to and have model for Ashley Stewart, Lane Bryant, The Black Woman Expo, Blake Martin and Haute Hosiery, Project Curve Appeal along with other local designers.

Brandee is also the City Movement Manager for the Chicago Chapter of Curve Appeal which is a sisterhood movement that empowers educates, and diminishes the negative imagery that society has on full figure women. She is also the owner and founder of Drinks By A Diva which is a concierge bartending service that caters to all party needs. Through her artistic and mixing skill she shows you that sexiness can be served in a glass.

Latoya

Technical Expert

LaToya is first and foremost, an educator, an engineer, and an entrepreneur. She was born and raised on the southside of Chicago, and graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  Currently she works as an Electrical Engineer with a manufacturing company in Romeoville and is responsible for control system design, control panel engineering, PLC and HMI programming, and site start-up support of integrated packaging equipment for the consumer products industry. LaToya joined the E3Radio team as the Technical Expert of all the radio communication and technology needs and provides technical support of the issues reported. She loves to travel, dance, and play sports. She believes in uplifting people and in self-help.

Phenomenon

Host of Phenomenal Soul Sessions

Author/Spoken Word Artist/ & Touring Performer, Phenomenon is an accomplished young renaissance woman emerging from Chicago. As an international touring artist in the Bahamas, New South Wales, Australia and the U.S., she has shared the stage with some of the best in the performance poetry industry and become a crowd favorite in all circuits. Phenomenon has authored a number of books including for her first published novel entitled Lesbian Chronicles: The Black Life who’s controversial combination of black lesbian life and the love of God drew much criticism from right winged Christian leaders. This poetic radical and poetry slam champion represents realness and a rebel mentality in a world where God is King, and she is Queen…of the stage!
